Jihad in Thailand; 9 executed

Nine villagers from the same family were executed in their sleep in southern Thailand.

Isalmic militants used grenades and automatic weapons to attack three homes in Bo-Ngo village, killing all of those in one of the houses, including an infant.

The massacre brings to 18 the number of people killed during the last week. Almost 1,000 people have been killed since the jihad started in earnest in Thailand's 3 southern provinces a year ago.
