Watcher's Council results for this week

Well, the votes are in! You can access the complete results here

In first place for Council posts, and well deserved was Dr. Sanity: `NO RELATION TO REALITY, INDEED', Dr. Sanity's excellent piece on Islamic culture and the psychosexual nature of its treatment of women. Well done, Doc!

In second place, the no less worthy The Glittering Eye's `The death of 1,000 cuts' examining the nature of the news coverage from Iraq and asking whether we have the stamina to complete the mission there.

For non-Council posts, the runaway winner was Dan Simmons - Author's Official Web Site ` A message from Dan, April, 2006 ' an eerie bit of specultive writing where a time traveler visits the present day to talk to someone about the future war with Islam. This piece was so good and so provocative that the author removed it from his site...and I'm still trying to find out why. This Google cached link will alow you to access it, however.

In second place was a piece by the one and only Captain Ed at the Captain's Quarters, with `Saddam Targeted American Assets For Terrorism: Case Closed (Bumped)' an essential piece for those who continue to believe that Iraq was no threat to the US.

Congratulations to all the winners..some excellent writing here.
