A Fitting Memorial To Arafat

Today a memorial ceremony in Gaza for Yasir Arafat was broken up by gunfire between Hamas and Fatah suporters that left six Palestinians dead and over eighty wounded.

As always, the stories differ.According to Fatah, Hamas police opened fire on the crowd, while Hamas claimed its forces first came under fire from Fatah gunmen posted on rooftops.

I can't think of a more fitting memorial for the ranting old coward, murderer, liar and thief than this.

The rally apparently had a fairly large turnout, around 250,000 according to Palestinian sources, which means that about half that number were actually there. The regard in which this brigand is held by most Palestinians should give interested observers a good look at how likely and `peace talks' are likely to work.

Palestinian cappo del tutti d'Ramallah Arafat II Mahmoud Abbas says that he plans to pollute Jerusalem by reburying Arafat's remains `in the capitol of the new Palestinian state, Jerusalem'.

That alone ought to be a sufficient reason for the Israelis to take any talk of `dividing' Jerusalem off the table.
